The Carversville Inn is a historic 1813 landmark in Bucks County, PA, built by Isaac Pickering as the village’s first tavern, originally named "Bird-in-Hand". It has served as a central hub, evolving from a tavern into a hotel, general store, and restaurant. Following a major renovation by new owners, it reopened in 2025 as a French brasserie with boutique suites.

This Inn is nice and close to our house and next door to our dentist.  We have wanted to try this refurbished site for a while.  Tried one time, but did not have reservations on a Wednesday and could not get in.

So, we finally made it to Carversville.  The décor is French. Not my cup of tea, a little too dark.  But it was a warm cozy feeling with beautiful, rustic décor.  The noise level was low and comfortable.  One drawback was the tables were close. If it was busier, John would have been sitting with two different groups.

The menu was a bit limited and the selections that were there were not really enticing. Steak frites, cheeseburger, pork chop.  There were no specials, except for the daily fish and that was the only fish entrée.  The Beef Bourguignon was very tender and delicious.  The side of mashed potatoes (pommes puree) were rich and delicious.  The French onion soup was very good,  but had a lot of bread in it.  The pork chop was good but not great.

The service was very good; friendly and attentive but info given on the special (the only one) was given offhand.  Our group might have thrown him off his game.

It was not as pricey as we thought it would be given the current economy.  $100 each – average for a fine dining establishment.

I am glad we finally got to experience Carversville Inn.  Overall, we were not impressed with the menu choices, there were not enough fish selections. It was a nice atmosphere and service but not a big enough impression to have us return any time soon.  Nice to mark off the bucket list.
